Published

Business startups

Many people like the idea of being an entrepreneur, but figuring out how to start a business can be so hard that it scares them away. What do you want to sell? Who do you want to sell to? How will you find clients?

Trying to decide what to sell? Handshake is a wholesale marketplace by Shopify where you can find high-quality, one-of-a-kind items from US-based suppliers.

If that wasn\’t enough, it seems like every other week there\’s a new online business trend. There are chatbots, advertisements on Facebook, Instagram influencers, and a lot of other options. What should you look out for? What really counts?

If you really want to start a business, you need to stop overthinking and start working to make it happen.

This article will show you step-by-step how to start a business in 2022.

How to Start a Business

When you start a business, you have to plan, make financial decisions, do research on the market, and learn things you never thought you would learn. We made this 14-step guide to starting a business to help you put your best foot forward today.

There is no one-size-fits-all model for starting a new business, but these steps will help you organize your ideas and iron out important details so that when you launch your business, you have answered all the important startup questions.

Step 1. Ask Yourself if You’re Ready

There is never a good time to open a business. If Romeo and Juliet couldn\’t make it work, chances are it won\’t work for you either. But you can either let that stop you from starting or use it as motivation to get started today.

When it comes to figuring out if you\’re ready to start a business, it\’s more about how you think about it than when you do it. Do you feel like you can win right now? If you didn\’t shout \”Hell yeah!\” at your computer screen, you might want to think again about whether or not you should be an entrepreneur.

The truth is that it\’s easy to say you\’re going to start a business. But doing it, making something out of nothing that makes money, can be a lot harder.

And you have to be ready in your mind to do something. Why? Well, there will be problems, like making ads that get people to buy. And if you don\’t have the right attitude, failure could really hurt you. But if you have the right attitude, you can KAPOW! your way through failures until you finally start getting big wins.

Step 2. Determine What Type of Business to Start

The next thing to do when starting a business is to decide what kind of business to start.

Is there a certain niche that you\’re really interested in? Are you looking for a business that you run or just one that you own? Do you intend to make money off of your pastime? Before launching your own company, there are a lot of things you need to think about, some of which are included here.

You can start anything from a Shopify store to a freelance business as MVMT Watches did. You can build a business by yourself with a consulting business, or you can build a business with a team, like a restaurant or a manufacturing company.

Create a list of the things that truly interest you. This will help you figure out what kind of business you want to start. For example, yoga, money, dogs, movies, food, clothing, and so on.

Next, use a tool like Keywords Everywhere to find out how often Google users search for your list. This will show you how well-liked your list of ideas is. You can also use Google Trends to see if the trend is going up, down, or staying the same, which will help you figure out if the niche will be profitable in the long run.

Then, look at the top three most popular keywords on your list and answer this question: \”In five years, which niche would not only get me out of bed in the morning but also get me excited enough to keep making content, products, and tools for it?\”

So, what\’s your big idea for a business? You can talk about it in the comments.

Step 3. Choose a Business Model FOR START A BUSINESS

After you have an idea for a business, think about how you will make it work in your niche. At this point, a business model comes into play.

The business model is a plan for how you will make money from your customers and give them value with your idea.

When learning how to start a business, it\’s helpful to know about some business models that have worked in the past.

Here are six different ways to run a business:

1. Affiliate Marketing: With this passive income idea, you can promote the goods and services of other businesses online and get a commission for every sale you make.

2. Freelancing: Use a skill you already have, such as advertising, writing, designing, or programming, to help other people and businesses.

3. Coaching and Consulting: Become a coach or consultant and market your knowledge, advice, and direction.

4. Information Products: Make eBooks, worksheets, templates, and online courses that show off your skills and sell them.

5. Software as a Service (SaaS): Make a piece of software or an app and charge users a monthly fee to use it.

6. E-commerce: Set up a website and sell physical goods online by using a service like Shopify.

Step 4. Do Market Research

Next, you need to know who you\’re writing for. In other words, who will you serve?

This step is very important.

Philip Kotler, a marketer, once said, \”There\’s only one way to win. It is to carefully define the target market and give that market a better product.\”

The trick is to make sure you are in your target audience.

Consider it. If you\’ve been camping your whole life, you\’ll know how other campers feel, what they want, and how they talk. So, it would be a lot easier to sell camping gear online.

Plus, your marketing will work better because you\’ll know how to talk to other campers better.

On the other hand, if you\’ve never been camping, you\’d probably have a hard time selling camping gear online.

So, when picking an audience, you should ask yourself:

  • So, what are my passions and interests?
  • Is there a topic in which I specialize?
  • Where do most of my musings, conversations, and readings take place?

Peter F. Drucker, an expert in corporate management, once remarked, \”The goal of marketing is to know and understand the customer so well that the product or service suits him and sells itself.\”

Step 5. Find a Problem to Solve

One important thing to remember when learning how to start an online business is that all businesses solve problems.

Plumbers fix pipes that leak. People go to Hollywood movies when they are bored, curious, interested, or just want to get away and relax. Clothing brands help people show who they are and make them feel good about themselves.

The golden rule is that people are willing to pay more money the bigger the problem you can solve and the better you solve it.

Take health care services as an example. Almost everyone is willing to spend a lot of money on them because they solve a big problem.

On the other hand, not many people will pay you to stop their table from shaking. It\’s not a big problem, and they don\’t need help to solve it.

If you want to know how to start an online business, you need to find a good problem to solve.

Here are three illustrations:

  • Target market: Teenage boys who care about fashion
  • Problem: People who care about fashion want to stand out without having to spend a lot of money.
  • Solution: Make a line of clothes that is both flashy and affordable.
  • Target market: Marketing managers at software companies with offices all over the world.
  • Problem: Companies need to get people to visit their websites.
  • Solution: To get traffic, write articles that rank on the first page of Google.
  • Target market: Moms who work and have young children.
  • Problem: Many moms want to work out regularly but don\’t have much time.
  • Solution: Make a fitness program and schedule that saves time.

How do you find something to fix?

  • Ask people what they need help with by joining Facebook groups and online forums.
  • Find out what people are looking for by using Google Ads.
  • Find online businesses that are doing well and figure out what problem they are solving. Then, look for ways to do it better.

Step 6. Set Realistic Goals and Expectations

One of the main reasons why businesses fail is because the people running them have unrealistic goals. I always hear about people who put thousands of dollars into ads thinking they\’ll get back three or four times as much, but they end up with a big fat zero.

So, let\’s try to paint a picture of what a likely situation would look like. All you do in your first year of business is fail. Why? Since this is your first business.

Most people have a false sense of hope when they start their first business. You think to yourself, \”If that guy can do it, so can I.\” But you don\’t care that he\’s on his fourth business or that he\’s been running that one for seven years.

I love how excited people get when they start to learn how to start a business. But if you go into it thinking you\’ll rule the world on the first day, you\’ll fail in a few short months because you\’ll be so disappointed.

Persistence is what makes the difference between a business that works and one that doesn\’t. Do you have what it takes to keep promoting your business even if you don\’t have any customers or website visitors after a month? How smart are you? Do you know when a plan isn\’t going to work? And do you have the patience to play the slow and steady game, where you might not make sales right away but make more money in the long run?

Now that you know the first few months of your business will take all the hard work you can give, how will you go about achieving your goals during this time?

Instead of worrying about making your first sale, you might want to focus on making content that will bring in the right kind of traffic. Or, maybe you want to build a following on Instagram before you start a business so that you already have customers when it\’s time to launch.

You can use SMART goals to help you set goals, but in the end, the goals you set for yourself will be unique to your experience and type of business.

Step 7. Create a One-Page Business Plan

You don\’t need to spend too much time on your business plan unless you\’re going to the bank to get a loan. Write a plan for your business by hand on a piece of paper. Even though this may sound like voodoo, I find that when I write down my goals by hand, I\’m more likely to reach them. I always have my goals with me, which helps me remember them and keeps me from getting away from them.

Now, let\’s get back to practical advice. Make sure to put the following on your one-page business plan:

  • How your business solves a problem
  • Essentially, this is your elevator speech (what does your business do)
  • Contact details for your intended audience (e.g. people who have dogs or who follow social media accounts about dogs)
  • Analysis of Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats to your business)
  • Plan for promoting your business through marketing (a list of ideas)
  • Financial plan: a list of how much the business will cost, how you\’ll pay for it at first, and how the business will make money
  • Forecasts of money for each quarter (e.g. January to March, April to June, etc.)

Step 8. Get Feedback

Now that you have an idea, some goals, and a plan, it\’s time to find out what other people think about it. At this point, many ideas have died (and sometimes even good ones).

The point of the feedback stage is to get a second opinion on how to improve your idea. Instead of asking for feedback on the whole business idea, ask for feedback on a specific part of it. And don\’t ask someone you love, no matter what. Trust me.

Most cities have business centers where you can talk to an entrepreneur who will give you advice on how to start a business. In some cities, young adults can even get help from an entrepreneur in their field as part of a program. Whether you want to work on tried-and-true or unusual business ideas, be sure to get feedback from the right people to help you get closer to business success.

Step 9. Find a Way to Pay for START A BUSINESS

Most people pay for their business with the money they make at their 9-to-5 job. Don\’t quit your day job until you\’ve made enough money to cover your expenses, and taxes, and give yourself a six-month cushion. At first, you probably won\’t be able to pay yourself because you\’ll need to put your earnings back into your business so it can grow faster.

But some businesses have very low start-up costs. For example, if you want to start a freelance business, you may only need some software or a computer, which you may already have or have access to.

Step 10.  Pair Up With a Partner

Solopreneurship is on the rise, so not everyone will be able to use this. But sometimes two people work together to make a business work. Rome wasn\’t built in one day, and no successful business was either. Your business is going to take up a lot of your time and money. And if you can build with someone you trust, you can split up the work and make more progress faster. It\’s also a great way to keep you honest.

When talking about partnerships, it\’s important to stress that you need to know how well you work with someone. Can you trust this person? Have you both ever worked together? How have you and your partner deal with disagreements in the past? Do your different skills work well together? Will a business relationship ruin your current relationship or friendship? Make sure to ask all the hard questions because choosing the wrong partner, if you decide to have one at all, can be bad for you.

Step 11. Name Your Business

It can be hard to find the right name for your business, especially if you want an a.com domain to go with it. You can get help coming up with a name by using a free business name generator.

Most brands, like Fashion Nova, try to include their keyword in their brand name. But some brands, like Shopify, come up with their own names.

You should choose a name for your business that is catchy, easy to remember, easy to spell when you hear it, has available usernames and a domain, and is short.

Sometimes the best names come to mind after bouncing ideas off a friend, who can give you a different point of view. So, if you can\’t decide on the right brand name, don\’t be afraid to ask for help.

Step 12. Register Your Business

In some cities or states, you don\’t have to register your business until you\’ve made a certain amount of money or profit from it. You\’ll have to do your research to find out what the rules are in your area.

But some business owners register their businesses on the first day to protect themselves from being sued. For example, if you incorporate your business on the first day and get sued early on, your business will take the hit instead of you. So, from a legal point of view, the sooner you incorporate your business, the safer you are.

Of course, incorporating your business isn\’t the only way to run a business. You can also be a sole proprietor or start a business with a partner. Before you start a business, you\’ll need to do some research to figure out which business structure will work best for you.

Step 13. Create Your First Product or Service

When you start a business, there are many things you can make or do to sell to your customers.

In e-commerce, you can use DSers to choose from millions of products you can sell in popular niches like fashion, jewelry, home decor, cars, beauty, electronics, and more.

If you know a lot about a certain field, you can sell digital products like ebooks, courses, music, and other digital content. You can sell products and services that build on your expertise to make money.

For businesses that sell software, you can make a SAAS product that helps other businesses. Or, if you\’re a consultant, you can offer speaking engagements, coaching, or your skillset.

Your skills and the type of business you run will play a big role in the products you make for your business. But there are a lot of things you can order or make that you can sell to a group of people.

If you want to start freelancing, coaching, or consulting, you can use Shopify to plug in popular tools like Digital Downloads to sell digital products online, ReCharge to sell subscriptions online, and SendOwl to sell videos online.

Step 14. Promote Your Business

Promotion is the most important part of starting a business. Getting people to know about your business will help you make sales so that your idea can become a business. Here are some ways to get your business idea out there:

  • Facebook: You can run Facebook ads by targeting \”broad\” interests and including relevant brands as interests to get their audience. You can also post as your fan page in Facebook groups, which is great for businesses that cater to a specific audience.
  • Instagram: Get more people to follow you on Instagram so you can make sales with every post. You can also add direct links to Instagram Stories to get more sales.
  • Pinterest: When you\’re just starting out, group boards are a great way to get your posts seen. You can also make your own boards to spread the word about your content. Be sure to share content from other brands so that your account doesn\’t get flagged as spam.
  • LinkedIn: Create posts and share your thoughts on articles on LinkedIn to build your own brand. To reach more people, ask relevant users to follow you.
  • SEO: By making your website search engine-friendly and writing blog posts, you can get more leads, email subscribers, and people to visit your website.
  • Quora: Answer questions in your niche on Quora to get people to visit your site. You can make yourself more visible on Quora by using SEO tools to find high-ranking Quora keywords.
  • Clubhouse: Start a place where people can talk about your brand. You can also talk with other business owners in other rooms that are related to your niche. Try to make friends so that people will follow your profile and tell others about your business.

How much does it cost to START A BUSINESS?

Every business has different financial needs, so it\’s important to figure out how much everything will cost before you start. Before opening, there may be costs for research, product materials, and packaging. After opening, there may be costs for advertising and paying employees. A good rule of thumb is to have enough money to cover fixed costs for six months.

Conclusion

Now that you know how to start a business, you can start the exciting journey of making one.

It can be scary to push yourself to finally grab life by the horns and take that first step. But once you start, you\’ll see that starting a business can be a lot of fun.

There will be problems and obstacles along the way, but if you keep going and learn from your mistakes, nothing can stop you from succeeding.

Four easy steps to getting insurance to cover a new roof

It is essential to involve insurance when replacing a roof, whether due to damage or aging, but not everyone is aware of the process. Knowing your coverage is crucial so you can get the right work done and have it covered if you need a new roof urgently.

As your roofing contractors, we are here to help you through the process of getting a new roof that is covered by your plan because we are aware that figuring out insurance can be difficult. Find out more about the procedures to follow when making an insurance claim for a new roof.

#1. Choose a roofer Who has Already experience in insurance roof repair.

Finding a reliable roofing contractor to carry out the roofing repair or replacement is the next step. So how do you even start choosing someone to do the job? How do you choose a reputable roof repair company from the plethora of options available?

By doing some preliminary research, asking about, searching online, and reading reviews posted by former clients, you may choose a roofing business you can trust. Since most roofers will have varying pricing and credentials, it is always acceptable to compare prices and possibilities. Always check for a licensed and insured roofer, for example. You can also talk about the price and acquire several quotes so that you are aware up front whether your insurance will pay for their work.

2. Be mindful of contingency agreements.

Even while you may think everything is clear, depending on the roofing contractor you\’re working with, it might not always be. The majority of roofers offer a free roof inspection and estimate, but occasionally hidden inside are contingency contracts that to the buyer appear to be an inspection report. This is another reason to constantly read what you\’re signing because while you could believe you\’re approving the inspection, it could actually mean that you\’re agreeing to have that firm do the job.

3. Recognize the damage.

If a severe storm just passed through your neighborhood and you suspect you might need a new roof, take a moment to evaluate the damage. Check for things like granules in the gutters and runoff, missing shingles, and it never hurts to ask the neighbors. Take pictures of the damage at this period, if you can, and make the best possible notes on it.

4. Recognize your policy.

Review your homeowner\’s insurance policy now, or get in touch with an agent, to learn all the actions you need to be taking. When you have damage that must be repaired right away, get in touch with your insurance provider very once to file a claim. There are provisions and conditions in policies that, if you wait too long, render the roof replacement void. It\’s crucial to be specific when providing the company with information so that they understand exactly what will be covered.

Contact your homeowner\’s insurance if you ever have a query or issue about your coverage to learn more about what they are willing to do for you.

An adjuster will arrive after you\’ve filed an insurance claim to do their own examination and give a final estimate of how much they\’ll pay for a new roof or roof repair.

Dealing with roof damage is never enjoyable, and when insurance is involved, things may become utterly overwhelming. Following the above instructions will make the transition to acquiring a new roof easier and more seamless.

DANA WHITE INCOME

As president of the UFC, Dana White has had a very successful career. He is said to have a net worth of $500 million and a salary of $20 million.

The 51-year-old is the face of the UFC and has been important to the growth of both MMA and the company.

Dana White Net Worth

Wealthy Gorilla says he is worth $500 million, and since he gets 9% of the profits from the promotion, he makes a huge $20 million (£18 million) a year from that alone.

White used to manage Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz before he heard that the UFC was looking for a new owner.

He got in touch with Lorenzo Fertitta, who ran a casino and was a friend. Fertitta bought the UFC for $2 million and made White its president.

At first, the UFC had trouble, but then it had a boom, and in 2016, it was sold for a staggering $4 billion.

Even though fans haven\’t been able to get into the arena because of the Coronavirus pandemic, White and the UFC have still managed to put on several events.

In March, they had one Fight Night show in Brazil with no fans. After that, they didn\’t have any shows for two months, but since then, they\’ve been coming fast and furious.

In May, UFC 249 was held in Florida. Tony Ferguson vs. Justin Gaethje was the main event, and two more Fight Nights were held the following week.

Then, everything moved to the UFC Aplex in Nevada for four more Fight Night shows and UFC 250. Amanda Nunes vs. Felicia Spencer was the main event of UFC 250.

White moved the company to Abu Dhabi for his well-known Fight Island shows, which began with UFC 251: Kamaru Usman vs. Jorge Masvidal and continued with three more Fight Nights.

Even though White lost money because there were no fans at UFC 251, he still made a lot of money because Masvidal replaced Gilbert Burns, who failed a Covid-19 test. This caused 1.3 million people to buy the pay-per-view.

Dana White INCOME

With that many people, it was the biggest show the company has put on since Khabib Nurmagomedov fought Conor McGregor at UFC 229. It was also the biggest event that didn\’t include the Irishman.
Since then, the company has put on more big shows and even went back to Abu Dhabi for the second part of Fight Island, which included what could be Khabib Nurmagomedov\’s last fight ever.

With McGregor\’s return to the octagon confirmed for UFC 257 on January 23, 2021, against Dustin Poirier, White\’s bank account could grow even more.

How Much Money Dana White Make

If not for Dana White, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) would not be where it is now. Dana Frederick White Jr. was born on July 28, 1969, in Manchester, Connecticut. He is the son of June and Dana White and is now the President of the UFC, which is the largest MMA promotion in the world. The UFC has become a world-famous, multibillion-dollar company thanks to Dana White\’s leadership.
